Israel II

How many times and places have these immortal words been spoken?

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity . . . "
Charles Dickens, "A Tale of Two Cities."

Never more true than today in Africa, in the Gulf and the Mid-East.

Too much for our plate.

UN Wants Half a Billion for Hamas

Palestinians voted overwhelmingly for Hamas, knowing what they stand for. And now the sanctions and funding cutoffs that resulted from their choice are really beginning to hurt.

So naturally the United Nations proposes the biggest Palestinian bailout in history: U.N. to ask for $450M in Palestinian aid.

"THERE can be few more surreal moments in international politics than a US president welcoming the findings of a group of American elder statesmen which conclude that his defining policy ? the invasion of Iraq ? has caused local meltdown and could cause mayhem across the Middle East."

Rest in Peace, Ms Kirkpatrick

Jeane Kirkpatrick, a strong American voice of sanity at the United Nations during the Reagan era, has died at the age of 80.

Iris.org points out a blunt and prophetic statement by Ms Kirkpatrick from 2002, when she told a Capitol Hill seminar that creating a Palestinian state would be catastrophic:
http://www.iris.org.il/blog/archives/21 ... trick.html

?It would be a step backward in America?s fight against international terrorism ... When we accept a terrorist state as legitimate, we strengthen terrorist groups,? she said. Dr. Kirkpatrick said that while the Oslo accords were supposed to bring Israel peace and safety, ?the situation is more dangerous for Israel now than it?s ever been.? She emphasized that ?The destruction of Israel and expulsion of the Jews has been the goal of the PLO since its beginning in 1964 and continues to this day.?

Daniel Freedman posts one of Kirkpatrick?s greatest speeches: ?But Then, They Always Blame America First.?

http://www.shinesforall.com/archives/20 ... patri.html

In that article she made the prophetic statement that:

The American commitment to "change" in the abstract ends up by aligning us tacitly with...Yasir Arafat.

This was thirteen years before Bill Clinton changed the US law defining interaction with the PLO as a crime and began funding it as a government.

This led to the globalization of the PLO inventions of airline hijacking and suicide bombing, which ironically victimized the US in the from of 9/11.

Hizballah Vows to Bring Down Cedar Revolution

Things are bad and getting worse in Lebanon. Hizballah and their sponsors, Iran and Syria, are bolder than ever. Hezbollah vows end to Lebanon government.

This could erupt in violence at any moment.

BEIRUT, Lebanon - Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah promised thousands of supporters Thursday that they would eventually bring down Lebanon?s Western-backed government, but the prime minister vowed to stand firm against protesters.

It was the seventh day of street demonstrations by Hezbollah and other pro-Syrian parties aimed at pressuring Prime Minister Fuad Saniora to quit in a deepening political crisis threatening to tear the country apart.

Apparently former President Jimmy Carter is a terrorist:
He's got a new book out and he describes it as a crime that
funding was cut off from Hammas.

"The book describes the abominable oppression and persecution in the occupied Palestinian territories, with a rigid system of required passes and strict segregation between Palestine's citizens and Jewish settlers in the West Bank. An enormous imprisonment wall is now under construction, snaking through what is left of Palestine to encompass more and more land for Israeli settlers. In many ways, this is more oppressive than what blacks lived under in South Africa during apartheid. I have made it clear that the motivation is not racism but the desire of a minority of Israelis to confiscate and colonize choice sites in Palestine, and then to forcefully suppress any objections from the displaced citizens. Obviously, I condemn any acts of terrorism or violence against innocent civilians, and I present information about the terrible casualties on both sides."

There lies the solution, Jimmy's right.
Israel and Palestine.

I have to say that Bush's stupidity and dependence on Rovian and Cheney type spin which preaches to never admit by word or action that the USA/Bush Administration has made awful blunders since we won the Initial battle in Iraq, has ended up cutting the balls off our great Country, The United States of America.

For that America and many of the Western countries of this world, including particularly Israel which helped put its ownself into even more jeopardy than the USA caused, will pay a horrible price before it is all over.

We have personally delivered to our enemies, the militant Islamists, a great victory that we ourselves have snatched out of the fire for them.

There is a great breach in the wall that separates the World from Insanity.
